Assignment # 5m BBC Smile Test

Here's a quick mini assignment for you to try. Just takes a few minutes. Read this brief  news article on fake smiles, then take the smile test below.

Can you spot the fake smiles from the real ones?
See what your score means! Post your thoughts here by next Thursday on the article and the accuracy of the test results for you.

    Well first off it looks like this was done at a local jail.And on the other hand the people only laughed or smiled on cue, and went back to normal. So I guessed the majority was fake, and I recieved a score of 18 out of 20!

    I thought that you could definitely see in their eyes whether the smile was genuine or fake. Also, I think how excited they appear to be correlates with how genuine their smile is. I received a score of 17/20.

    I thought I would perform much better than I did. I scored 9/20 and didn't think it would be so hard to figure out if someone was faking being happy or just happy themselves.

    I thought this was very easy i got everyone right it was very noticeable to spot the real from fake

    Its kind of hard to recognize when a person smile is real and fake at times. I got 14/20.

    it was hard to recognize how genuine the smile were. difficult to ascertain how genuine they actually were.

    It was kind of hard to recognize when someone's smile was real or fake. I got a 15/20.

    I thought it was difficult to recognize if the smile was fake or not because they were smiling when someone told them to and then went right back to their normal state. I got a 12/20

    It seem to me as if they all had a fake smile or maybe I cant tell the difference.

    I thought it was pretty easy but as a person who always gives off a fake smile I knew. But I received a 20/20.

    I thought I was doing really good, most of them looked fake by the way they stopped smiling and the look of their face when they were done smiling. I got a 14 out of 20, so not terrible but it was harder than i though.

    I got 15/20. Seems easy enough but every persons smile is just a bit different!

    20/20, but I feel like anyone could get a perfect score if they people watched and practiced drawing faces and such.
